Flying from St. Louis to Italy - Taking an overnight flight

Hi everyone! It’s me, Adaline! I just flew all the way from St. Louis, Missouri to Naples, Italy - and guess what? I had not one, but TWO layovers! Buckle up and let me tell you all about it!

Takeoff from St. Louis
We started in St. Louis, where I waved goodbye to the Arch and got super excited for my adventure. I had my backpack ready with my snacks, travel books, headphones, and Pandy (my panda). The flight attendant was very nice. He even gave Pandy an Air Canada pin.

First stop: Toronto, Canada!

Quick Layover in Toronto
Toronto was quick and easy. We walked through the airport and saw lots of cool signs in English and French. Then it was time to get on another plane to Montreal.

Long Layover Fun in Montreal
In Montreal, we had a long layover - that means we stayed in the airport for a while before the next flight. It was 6 hours long. That’s like watching 50 episodes of Bluey without stopping!

We were supposed to go to a lounge, but when we got to the lounge it was full. It seemed like there were a lot of people trying to get in. I wanted to see the inside of a lounge, and show you what it looks like. I am told they have food and drinks. Maybe next time.

I didn't mind the long layover. I got to watch planes take off and land through the big windows. The Montreal airport even has ping pong tables, so I got to play ping pong while waiting for the next flight.

The Big Overnight Flight on a 787 Dreamliner
When it was time to go to Naples, I was SO excited because we flew on a Boeing 787.  It is called the Dreamliner, I think that is because it helps you dream while sleeping.

That plane is HUGE and super fancy. And the best part? It was an overnight flight - my favorite kind! I got to watch a movie after takeoff, then I snuggled up with my blanket and Pandy and fell asleep while flying over the ocean. I am told that we were flying at 41,000 feet above the water at over 600 mph! Isn’t that awesome?  Then when you wake up they serve breakfast on the plane!

Landing in Italy - and the Rear Door Surprise!
When we landed in Naples, something really cool happened.  Instead of getting off the plane through the front doors like usual, we got off through the doors at the back of the plane!  I walked down the stairs outside and then we got in a bus that took us to the airport terminal.  It was like a secret back exit just for us!

Thanks for flying along with me on my big adventure! Have you ever flown on a Dreamliner or walked down airplane stairs before? Let me know in the comments!

Bye for now!
